Mánes is a landmark of Czech visual art. For decades, it has hosted significant exhibitions, brought artists together and introduced new artistic directions. Its name combines artistic heritage, prestige and an exceptional location in the centre of Prague.
Salon Mánes invites applications for the second edition of the Winter Salon in the Small Hall of Galerie Mánes. Present your work at this distinguished venue and become part of a curated exhibition featuring both artists selected through the open call and invited, established artists.
The exhibition will take place in two consecutive editions: Vol. 1 in December 2026 and Vol. 2 in January 2027.

An exhibition with its own creative concept
The Winter Salon will have a distinctive exhibition concept, bringing individual artworks together into a thoughtfully composed whole.
The exhibition installation will be designed by painter Petr Písařík. The creative concept and campaign are developed by Adam Čirok, Creative Director of Salon Mánes.
This year’s edition will connect visual art with the energy of boxing. The programme will feature punching bags transformed into artworks by invited artists, interactive elements and opportunities for visitors to contribute to a collaborative artwork.

An opportunity to exhibit alongside established artists
The exhibition will bring invited artists together with participants selected through the open call, creating a meeting point for different generations and artistic approaches.

Your work will become part of an exhibition designed by Petr Písařík. The installation will create new connections between artworks and enhance their presence in the space.
An artist profile and promotion
We will introduce both your exhibited work and you as its creator. Artist profiles will form part of the exhibition’s communication through Salon Mánes and Czech Gang channels.
New audiences and potential buyers
The opening reception and exhibition will offer opportunities to make connections and introduce your work to people interested in art. If you offer your work for sale, we will help connect interested buyers with you.
An accompanying programme that attracts visitors
Salon Mánes complements its exhibitions with artist meetings, guided tours, workshops and Mánes Nights evening events. These activities create further opportunities for visitors to discover the artworks and their creators.
Part of an active exhibition venue
The Small Hall is next to the Main Hall of Mánes, whose exhibitions attract a substantial audience interested in art. The central Prague location and glass-fronted gallery also draw the attention of passers-by. The illuminated exhibition remains visible during the evening.
We welcome artists of all generations, both emerging and established. Eligible media include painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, collage, sculpture, objects, digital art, installation and other forms of visual expression.
Artists may submit completed works created in recent years. The work does not need to have been made specifically for this exhibition or be available for sale.
Participating artists will be selected by a curatorial jury. The first stage of selection is anonymous.
The jury will assess artistic quality, originality and how the work contributes to the exhibition as a whole. The artist’s name, education, previous exhibition experience and social media following will not determine the first-stage selection.
Application and participation conditions
Complete the application form and attach 1–3 photographs of the proposed artwork.
Participation fee: CZK 9,700.
The fee is payable only after participation has been confirmed following the jury’s selection. There is no administrative application fee. The organiser is not VAT registered.
The participation fee includes:
presentation of the artwork in the Small Hall of Galerie Mánes as part of the exhibition,
professional installation designed by Petr Písařík,
the opening reception,
an artist profile used in exhibition communications,
PR and promotion,
exhibition organisation and operation.
Artworks may be offered for sale. The commission on sales is 10%.
The exhibition will include a public vote for the artwork of the exhibition, with voting available both in the gallery and online. Participating artists’ names and numbers will be displayed in the gallery window.
